When I began this blog in May of 2006, I had started with this idea of what inspires me. From there, it sort of morphed into a place for me to just talk (read: complain) about things that bugged me. I never lost the original intent of the blog, but it had lost it’s focus. Plus, I tended to deviate too much from the overall focus of this blog (I am still an Illini fan, but maybe this isn’t the best place to talk about it.) Now, I’m a more mature blogger. I’m going to really keep in mind the original intent with a few twists. I will still talk about the artists I see in this world that inspire me. My inspiration, though, might not always be another artist. Music and other media inspire me. Discussions on the brain and creativity and learning inspire me. Quotes inspire me. If my voice is going to be heard, I should probably make my thoughts more focused and not just random and sporadic.

Plus, since I’d like to think of this as a companion piece to my portfolio, I’m going to announce when I’ve added new work so hopefully it gets recognized more often. So, if you haven’t checked it out, see my work at joemills.com. Hope being the key word. Enjoy!
